Known for its “flash sales” in apparel and other merchandise, online retailer zulily continues to grow at a fast pace since its founding in 2010. In response to that rapid sales growth, zulily launched the expansion of its office in Gahanna, which is used for its back office and call center operations. The $1.3 million expansion positions the company to add 50 jobs in customer service, fulfillment, merchandising and accounts payable.

In 2012, zulily expanded in Ohio building a fulfillment center in Obetz near Rickenbacker Airport. The company invested $30 million in that facility as well as in office space in Gahanna. Today, zulily employs more than 1,250 workers in the Columbus Region and anticipates additional growth. Although based in Seattle, the company considers Columbus its second corporate office, according to CEO Darrell Cavens.

Running a corporate office in the center of the nation that parallels an office in Seattle is particularly important for a company such as zulily, said Ted Griffith, JobsOhio managing director for Information Technology and Logistics and Distribution.
