Wall Street Journal Confirms Ohio Valley is Driving Nation’s Gas Production
In a recent article, The Wall Street Journal reinforces what business and economic leaders in Ohio have known: The Ohio Valley is a source of abundant and low-cost natural gas spurring economic development in the region.
The energy boom in the Ohio Valley is now providing economic benefits for Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia, as companies build manufacturing facilities to take advantage of the region’s abundant natural gas and natural gas liquids.
“We’re back at the center of energy production in the United States, and even the world. We’ve got everything that a manufacturer needs,” said Jerry James, chief executive at Artex Oil Co. in Marietta, Ohio.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the Utica Marcellus shale formations have helped this part of Appalachia become the nation’s driver of gas production.
