Company Need:

A 32-room expansion is driven by a substantial growth in demand for services, as well as an effort to improve the use/efficiency of the existing space.  The expansion will primarily house larger species, freeing up ~12 animal rooms/month in the existing facility to accommodate other species, which is a better use of the existing space.

Testimonial:

“Workforce is the critical component in the required drug development process, we have a large number of universities we can draw technical staff from, and we’ve always had success attracting PhD-level talent.”
– Rusty Rush, site director of Charles River Laboratories

Why Ohio?

In choosing to expand in Spencerville, Rush cited the company’s outstanding and experienced workforce, as well as the pipeline of talent coming from the regional universities, as contributing factors in its site location decision.
