Energy leaders from Ohio and throughout the region met to kick off the Oil and Gas Expo, where they discussed the re-emerging boom in the industry. Several key industry leaders spoke positively, with high hopes for the future.

“How the sector play and energy play has unfolded over the last 6 or 7 years, it’s been quite impressive with the amount of investment in all facets leading all the way to the petrochemical space,” said Dana Saucier, Jobs Ohio managing director for energy and petrochemicals.

In 2011, the industry moved in quickly but saw a brief slow-down, especially in 2016.

“Prices started to decline which caused some of that activity to abate, but there’s a lot of efficiencies that have been gained in the industry so we’re quite excited that we’re seeing a pick-up in activity again,” said Saucier.
