Why Ohio?

With established Ohio partnerships and roots due to the Worldpay acquisition, FIS plans to solidify the Cincinnati location as a Strategic Technology and Innovation Campus. Ohio is home to the sixth largest financial services industry in the U.S., and FIS will leverage that industry to remain a global leader.

“We have a rich history in Cincinnati and are excited about the future impact our Ohio colleagues will have in innovating and advancing the customer experience for our clients all over the world,” FIS COO Stephanie Ferris said. “This is all part of a new chapter for us in the Cincinnati region, as we continue to hire the region’s top tech talent and will be seeking new ways to collaborate with this community.”

FIS will continue to work with surrounding universities to build the pipeline of high-quality fintech talent. FIS will invest in its location at the University of Cincinnati’s 1819 Innovation Hub with plans to employ students to work on fintech applications. The company also plans to continue to work with the University of Cincinnati and Miami University through its initiative to increase the number of students—especially women and underrepresented minorities—who are pursuing financial services related degrees.
