Amcor Rigid Plastics, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of rigid plastic packaging for consumer products, plans a $40 million expansion of its facility in Bellevue, Ohio. That expansion includes an addition of 126,000 square feet of manufacturing space and 85,000 square feet of warehouse space. The expanded footprint is expected to boost employment beyond the current 148-person workforce.
According to company officials the expansion is needed to meet increased demand for its Diversified Products packaging in the food, healthcare, beverage, and home and personal care markets.
In an article in Area Development, Ann O’Hara, vice president & general manager for Amcor’s Diversified Products business unit, said that Northwest Ohio is a strategic geographic location for Amcor because it is home to many of its customers, including brand owners and manufacturers in the food, healthcare and consumer segments.
JobsOhio, through the assistance of the Regional Growth Partnership, supported the expansion project through an economic development grant.
