NEWS RELEASE
COLUMBUS – JobsOhio has been recognized with GuideStar’s Platinum Seal of Transparency for 2018, the highest level of transparency recognized by GuideStar. JobsOhio received the distinction after its first submission.
GuideStar is the nation’s premier nonprofit database, founded to promote nonprofit transparency and to provide a central repository of information on more than 1.8 million IRS-recognized nonprofit organizations.
“We are pleased to receive GuideStar’s Platinum Seal of Transparency,” said JobsOhio President and Chief Investment Officer John Minor. “JobsOhio and our Board have stressed our organization’s high degree of transparency, and it is rewarding to see the independent recognition of this by GuideStar.”
To reach the Platinum level, JobsOhio added extensive information to its nonprofit profile on GuideStar, including basic contact and organizational information; financial information; qualitative information about goals, strategies and capabilities; and quantitative information about progress toward its mission of driving job creation and new capital investment in Ohio.
The GuideStar Seal of Transparency is displayed on JobsOhio’s website, and GuideStar’s link to JobsOhio’s organization profile can be found here.
GuideStar gathers and disseminates information about every single IRS-registered nonprofit organization. It provides as much information as possible about each nonprofit’s mission, legitimacy, impact, reputation, finances, programs, transparency, governance, and more. GuideStar encourages nonprofits to share information about their organizations openly and completely, and then combines the information that nonprofits supply with data from several IRS and other sources.
