With 4,500 acres of road courses and a 7.5-mile, high-speed oval test track, the TRC is the best place to test and validate nearly any vehicle in a controlled environment including off-road and multi-surface testing. The TRC has a 540-acre SMART Center that enables the testing of new technologies and autonomous and connected vehicles.
Ohio’s 35-mile Smart Mobility Corridor is a 432-strand redundant fiber network with 62 RSUs along US-33 and 32 traffic signal upgrades. The corridor supports Connected Marysville and City of Dublin initiatives with queue warnings, pedestrian safety and traffic management systems. Data centers offering co-location, cloud, and connectivity services.
Honda and the City of Marysville launched a replicable “smart intersection” that helps drivers detect and avoid potential crashes. Honda’s partnership with Marysville is part of the 33 Smart Mobility Corridor, a 35-mile stretch of U.S. Route 33 in Central Ohio where the state is investing $15 million to install advanced highway technology.
The Driving Simulation Lab at The Ohio State University offers a state-of-the-art facility for measuring driver behavior, providing tools for evaluating in-vehicle systems for infotainment and vehicle guidance. The lab can help you meet National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) guidelines, investigate driving tasks, and develop flexible schedules as you design and test.
The SBC is a strategic partnership comprised of five transportation agencies and seven academic institutions throughout Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. The coalition has established a high-profile, high-impact, long-distance, connected, and automated vehicular corridor with multi-jurisdictions, four distinct seasons, and both urban and rural roadways. The SBC supports testing and deployment of connected and automated vehicles as well as innovative and emerging technologies.
GM and LG Chem have a $2.3 billion joint venture to mass-produce battery cells for future battery-electric vehicles in a battery cell assembly plant on a greenfield manufacturing site in Northeast Ohio. The state-of-the art plant is designed to use the most advanced manufacturing processes all under one roof to produce cells more efficiently, benefitting from strong economies of scale throughout the value chain.
