Medical Device Innovator Opens State-of-the-Art Research Center in Northeast Ohio

A new era of collaborative medical device research is underway in Northeast Ohio. Quality Electrodynamics (QED), a global developer, manufacturer and supplier of advanced medical equipment electronics, officially opened its new facility, the QED Research Center in Mayfield.

As the first recipient of the newly created JobsOhio Research & Development Center Grant, the QED Research Center provides the research community and business leaders a platform to develop innovative imaging solutions to address society’s most pressing challenges in healthcare: breakthroughs in access, affordability, quality, and speed leading to better outcomes.

The center is located in what is known as the region’s Health-Tech Corridor anchored by Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals and Case Western Reserve University, allowing QED researchers and customers to collaborate on innovation projects.

“By centering our operations in Northeast Ohio, QED will continue to work with some of the best minds in the world on healthcare delivery, looking at ways to better diagnose, manage or treat common diseases across the health continuum,” Dr. Fujita said.

QED founder and CEO Dr. Hiroyuki Fujita and QED Research Center President Dr. John Patrick welcomed Governor John R. Kasich as well as business leaders from across the region and state to get a first look at the state-of-the art research center.
