Company Need:
RIA in a Box — which provides investment advisers with the leading compliance software tools and support for establishing, protecting and optimizing their registered investment adviser (RIA) firms — was recently acquired by a private equity firm.
The acquisition positioned the company for growth. In preparation, the company sought to expand. Availability of quality talent and a strong financial technology (fintech) industry were essential pieces in the company’s decision to invest and grow. Following evaluation, RIA chose to expand its Orange Village, Ohio, operations. This expansion is expected to result in 90 new jobs in northeast Ohio.
The rapidly growing company currently has its primary operations located in the Cleveland area and New York City.
Why Ohio?
The decision to expand operations in the Cleveland area was based in large part on the area’s success in providing RIA in a Box with a robust and supportive fintech ecosystem.
Ohio has the fifth largest financial services sector in the U.S., home to leading financial and retail institutions including KeyBank, Huntington, Klarna, Worldpay and Alliance Data Systems. Ohio is within a short plane ride or a day’s drive of New York City, which means RIA can commute quickly and easily to its headquarters.
Ohio has three cities consecutively listed in top 10 rankings for best cities for tech and millennial talent – Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati. Ohio’s cost of doing business, including office space cost and workforce wages, is significantly less than New York City. Moreover, there is still an abundance of quality talent and a more affordable high quality of life.
